Greece is a developed market, with a dynamic and growing franchising sector that offers significant expansion opportunities to international chains. In 2008, Athens will be welcoming one of the leading franchising exhibitions in the world: the KEM World Franchise Exhibition, with a 10-year anniversary celebration. The 10th KEM World Franchise Exhibition will be held from the 29th of February until the 3rd of March 2008, at the Exhibition & Conference Centre of Attica (HELEXPO PALACE).
During the KEM World Franchise Exhibition, Greece will become the meeting point of world franchising. Every participating country and their corresponding franchises, each taking part in the expo in a separate country pavilion, will present their concepts for the international market. Therefore, this multinational, from every perspective, exhibition will showcase visitors everything that is new and that the world franchising market has to offer, in one venue.
The expo's global character offers exhibitors the chance to present their concepts not only to the Greek audience, but also to prospect investors from all over the world. Indicatively, last year's exhibition was visited by more than 25.000 interested prospects. This way, in 2008, exhibitors will be able to look for master franchisees not only in the Greek market, but also in other markets being "represented" in the expo via their visitors. Respectively, visitors from abroad, as prospect investors, will have the opportunity to check out for themselves some 300 different concepts from the international market and discover which ones interest them the most. At the same time, they will come in close contact with the Greek participating concepts that have expressed intense interest in expanding beyond the Greek borders.
Within the context for the Exhibition, two exceptionally important, for the franchising sector, parallel events will be taking place. These are the World Franchise Council's Meeting and the 4th Global Franchise Leadership Summit: Meet the Leaders of The Franchise Industry, organized by the Economist Conferences. Representatives from around the world, will make their presence known in the WFC's Meeting. Also, the 4th Global Franchise Leadership Summit, Meet the Leaders of The Franchise Industry, will host prominent speakers from the franchising sector, both from Greece and abroad and will constitute the "canvas", on which matters and issues relating to the sector, its development and future course in the globalized environment it is called upon to operate, will be analyzed. The Summit will be held during the exhibition, on Monday, 3 March 2008 at the same venue as the meeting of the World Franchise Council.
The 10th KEM World Franchise Exhibition will be organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Development, the National Confederation of Hellenic Commerce, the Franchise Association of Greece, the World Franchise Council (WFC) and the European Franchise Federation (EFF). Finally, KEM has already planned for an extensive promotional campaign that will run on a global level, but mostly in the countries of southeastern Europe, the Mediterranean and Cyprus. KEM's goal is clear. In view of its 10th anniversary, the KEM World Franchise Exhibition will offer exhibitors the opportunity to participate in the most important franchising event on a global scale, while visitors will have the chance to discover franchising concepts from every corner of the world.
